About Kunal
Kunal was born in a small village in India called Bombay, and the movies he watched in his town’s nickelodeon (with money he collected by shining shoes) inspired him to make his own. After saving up hard-earned pennies for seven years, Kunal relocated to the land of opportunity (Chicago, Illinois) and began to make his own comedy movies.
He decided to take up an education at Northwestern University where he studied Radio/Television/Film, Business, Creative Writing for the Media, and ladies. In his time there, he made several films that have made his move from Bombay worthwhile. His short film, “One More Coffee” was named the best of the fest at the inaugural Northwestern University Film Festival, and “The Detention Teacher” (which he produced) won a Student Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2007.“Super Fitness” didn’t get much play, but in October 2007, Kunal was awarded $10,000 from Northwestern University to make his latest project, “The Happy Man’s Pants.”
Through his experiences Kunal realized that his calling was to tell simple stories in elaborate-ass ways, and hopes to do so until he is deported. He hopes he can continue writing his rags-to-riches story.
